Specialist article "Knowledge for all" on Industry 4.0 published

News 2015

Nuremberg. Is it a revolution or "just" an evolutionary stage? The question naturally revolves around the new standard Industry 4.0. Since there can be no simple answer to this, qSkills™, the independent IT training provider, has published a differentiated expert contribution on the topic. The entire article has now also been featured on IT-Production.com as a top story.

The much-cited revolution in industrial production mostly comes across as evolution in most cases. It's a different story when it comes to the role of employees: Against the backdrop of the necessary reorientation of the qualifications of employees at all hierarchical levels, a revolution indeed needs to be spoken of.

But it's not just pure expertise that is needed, soft skills are also in demand. As knowledge is increasingly distributed within companies, a decentralized, service-oriented structure with well-trained, responsible employees is needed. This requires soft factors, such as the ability to cooperate across departmental boundaries.

Not to forget the topic of IT security: The merging of production and IT and the increasing number of access points naturally expand the attack surface. Conventional security solutions in office IT also cannot be transferred one-to-one to the new ways of working. Nevertheless, valuable lessons can be drawn from the development paths of traditional IT to prevent misdevelopments and find workable solutions.

Author Christian Jacobs, member of the management board at qSkills™ GmbH & Co. KG, addresses these and other topics in his expert article on "Employee Training: Knowledge for All." You can find the article on IT-Production.com, and learn more about the new production standard in our Industry 4.0 IT Academy.
