The course AI345 AI Knowledge Assistants in Daily Work: Using your own Documents, Notes and Information with AI demonstrates practically how personal AI knowledge assistants support daily knowledge work. Starting with the challenges of modern knowledge work, participants learn how to organize their own documents, notes, PDFs, web pages, and project files so that AI tools can generate source-based, traceable answers from them. The course also explains where traditional RAG reaches its limits and when curated, AI-maintained knowledge bases are the more reliable alternative.
A tool overview compares current solutions such as ChatGPT with custom files and projects, Microsoft™ Copilot, and NotebookLM regarding use cases, handling of custom data, data privacy, and integration options. Building on this, participants develop AI-supported workflows for analysis, summarization, and research using their personal knowledge bases. For more extensive queries, deep research functions are added, which conduct multi-stage research and disclose their sources. Quality, data protection, and responsible use are central themes throughout the day: evaluating AI responses, recognizing hallucinations, and realistically assessing limitations and risks.
Short introductions alternate with tool demonstrations and exercises using sample material. In the concluding practical phase, participants create a personalized AI workflow that they can immediately incorporate into their daily work.
