SNW Europe 2009: On the knowledge trail with qSkills™

News 2009

Top training courses on storage, backup, and virtualization
Nuremberg, October 21, 2009. Independent IT training provider qSkills™ will be showcasing its training expertise at SNW Europe on October 27 and 28, 2009, in the exhibit hall, booth 25/Messe Frankfurt am Main. The goal is to promote the optimal use of storage and virtualization technologies. As a knowledge provider for leading technology solutions, the training company is focusing its SNW trade fair activities on the topics of storage, backup, and virtualization, with an emphasis on VMware™ and Xen/Xen Server. Another highlight is the area of Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

In times of crisis, the pressure to save money does not stop at IT. For this reason, solutions for optimal organizational operations are essential in order to streamline processes and ultimately reduce costs. In this context, the storage market in particular is becoming the focus of many companies. “New storage technologies offer companies considerable savings potential. And that is an important factor in view of the current economic situation,” says Kurt-Jürgen Jacobs, managing director of the independent IT training provider qSkills™.

Lower costs, better service: storage virtualization as a market driver
Decision-makers see the efficiency of storage solutions as one of the key issues in the search for modern data processes and lower IT costs. High availability and optimal performance are essential for the solution used. But data backup, including archiving and information security, is also high on users' priority lists. To make data permanently available, many organizations still use traditional backup methods. However, new storage solutions offer considerable savings potential, as the example of virtual systems shows. A virtualized storage environment allows IT resources to be used more efficiently, increases hardware utilization, and thus reduces costs. For example, the industry association BITKOM has concluded that virtualized servers can deliver cost savings of up to 50 percent.

qSkills™ training courses in response to increasing demands
Technologically mature virtualization options are now available for all business requirements and systems, whether it's the classic Windows environment or an open-source solution with Linux. However, without the necessary expertise and specialist knowledge of your own employees, it is almost impossible to meet the ever-increasing technical requirements. “The increasing complexity and interconnection of storage with subsystems is leading to a growing need for training,” explains Kurt-Jürgen Jacobs. “As a training provider, we are called upon to transfer knowledge in the storage market, link technologies with related solutions, and communicate them transparently.” In this context, qSkills™ will be presenting its training content on VMware™, Xen, and Xen Server at SNW Europe in the exhibit hall, booth 25/Messe Frankfurt.

The qSkills™ trade fair presentation will be rounded off by the topic of FCoE. According to experts, the FCoE protocol stands for simple networking and faster data transfer within storage networks. qSkills™ has recognized this trend and will focus on FCoE training courses in the future.
