SNW Europe: Bridge workshops based on the modular principle - qSkills™ offers practical training in the storage environment

News 2007

Nuremberg, September 28, 2007. The Nuremberg IT training provider qSkills™ presents itself again this year at the Storage Networking World (SNW) Europe in Frankfurt. The company provides information on specialized, practice-oriented Bridge Workshops and participates as a partner of the SNW in free training sessions for trade fair visitors.

European storage and data management experts will meet from October 29 to 31 at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt for the largest manufacturer-independent conference and exhibition in the industry. "This event is also an important forum for us as a training provider," explains Kurt-Jürgen Jacobs, Managing Director of qSkills™ GmbH & Co. KG, the only training provider present at the fair. "The storage area is one of our core competencies. We meet many important partners here. And we talk to professionals who are always looking for good IT solutions."

Cross-system training for more competence in the company
As a provider of practice-oriented, cross-system training, qSkills™ uses the SNW as a presentation platform and information exchange. As efficient storage management becomes increasingly important and the requirements in this area become more complex, many companies face the challenge of acquiring comprehensive skills. Only with their help can interfaces and parameters be adjusted correctly - an important prerequisite for the optimal operation of the systems. To proactively counteract error rates and inefficiency, i.e., time and money loss, many companies today train their employees across systems, thereby increasing their in-house IT know-how. And this is where the workshops come in. "For example, we provide system planners and storage managers with a comprehensive overview of technologies and solution concepts and show the way to integrate storage into the overall IT landscape. Our goal is to provide solid knowledge for the introduction and continuation of tailor-made storage solutions that specifically help in everyday work," explains Jacobs the philosophy of his company, which has been offering successful training since 2002 and whose quality is appreciated by numerous private sector and public sector companies.

qSkills™ presents its training concepts on the core topics of storage management, storage virtualization, and backup & recovery at booth 16. Here, the principle of bridge workshops is presented, which are tailored to the individual requirements of customers based on a modular principle. The focus is on dealing with multiple products from different manufacturers, including NetApp™, Brocade™, Legato-Networker, and IBM-Tivoli, and their cross-system mediation.

Learning by Doing with qSkills™
Practice sessions prepare visitors for the technical tutorials

In addition, qSkills™, a Silver Sponsor of the SNW, also participates in the practice sessions organized by the Storage Industry Association SNIA Europe, which were held for the first time last year - with great success. qSkills™ hosts free training sessions on the first day of the fair, mainly to prepare less technically savvy participants for the technical tutorials on the following two days. qSkills™ remains true to its principles and focuses on gradually building up and clearly conveying know-how - according to a proven training concept with its own information material, practical and in German.
