Objectives:
Participants of the course LI260 Linux Security & Hardening learn various aspects of computer security, which potential threats exist and how to protect against them. These mechanisms are implemented in practical exercises, enabling participants to protect their own systems more effectively.Target audience:
The seminar LI260 Linux Security & Hardening is targeted at Linux system administrators.Prerequisites:
To be able to follow the course content and learning pace in the workshop LI260 Linux Security & Hardening effectively, basic knowledge of Linux system administration is required.Description:
In the 5-day course LI260 Linux Security & Hardening, Linux system administrators receive a hands-on introduction to security concepts and protection of Linux systems. Participants learn to develop security policies and understand various threats as well as protection measures – from physical security through cryptography, access control and user management (incl. PAM, two-factor authentication, SELinux, AppArmor) to methods of logging, integrity checking and intrusion detection.Practical exercises deepen the secure configuration of network services, permissions and encryption techniques. Theoretical insights into penetration testing complete the program. Prerequisites are basic knowledge in Linux system administration. After the course, participants are able to effectively secure their systems against current threats.
