Objectives:

The course LI510 Kubernetes Basics demonstrates how containers can be automatically deployed, scaled and managed in larger environments using Kubernetes. Practical examples are used to explain the individual components and demonstrate the possibilities offered by Kubernetes.

Target audience:

The course LI510 Kubernetes Basics is targeted at:

  • Linux Administrators
  • System Administrators
  • Linux Admins with Docker experience

Prerequisites:

The participants of the course LI510 Kubernetes Basics should already have basic container knowledge as well as good knowledge of Linux system administration (RHCE, SCA, LPIC1 or comparable).

We recommend attending the following course beforehand:

Description:

Learn in the training LI510 Kubernetes Basics how to effectively orchestrate your containers with Kubernetes. Container orchestration simplifies and automates the deployment, management, scaling, availability and networking of container-based applications. We show you through practical exercises how you can manage, configure and install Kubernetes on a cluster and how you can also transfer your own applications with Kubernetes into the "real-time operations" of your organization.

The course covers central topics such as cluster architecture, multi-master setup, overlay networks, resource management, services, networking, rolling updates as well as monitoring and logging. Additionally, security aspects with authentication and role-based access control (RBAC) are covered. Debugging techniques complete the course program.

We recommend as advanced courses:
- LI530 Kubernetes Advanced
- LI560 Kubernetes Security
- LI590 Kubernetes Cluster Management with SUSE™ Rancher
