Objectives:

The objective of the course LI610 SUSE™ Manager 4 Deployment & Initial Configuration is to introduce participants to the diverse possibilities of SUMA and to provide the technical knowledge for successful deployment on any scale.

  • System Architects who lead the implementation of SUSE™ Manager in their enterprise
  • Linux System Administrators who are looking for an efficient and effective way to centrally manage their Linux servers instead of managing them individually as separate servers

Prerequisites:

Participants of the course LI610 SUSE™ Manager 4 Deployment & Initial Configuration should have the following:

  • Familiarity with the Linux command line
  • at least one year of experience in Linux system administration
  • and some knowledge in Bash scripting

A SUSE™ Certified Administrator (SCA) for SUSE™ Linux Enterprise Server 15 or higher or an equivalent level of experience is recommended.

The training LI610 SUSE™ Manager 4 Deployment & Initial Configuration teaches you the benefits, features and advantages of SUSE™ Manager (SUMA) 4. The course covers the three-tier architecture of the SUMA system and the prerequisites for successful installation of those architecture components. You will work step by step through the installation and configuration of SUMA Server, SUMA Proxy Server, and Salt Minion Code on the target clients.

The training enables you to set up a functional SUMA system and explore the numerous management functions that SUMA offers for your managed client servers.
